Ride and glide -- you know about the eastside?

If you start off at Sherbourne like I do, down you go, crossing the Gardiner. It's start-and-stop with that ugly P.O.S., so just use it to warm up and stretch when you get to the Quay.

Now run! In the summer there's tons of bikes and fruit booters, see if you can blow past them (yeah right). Follow the trail and turn up at Leslie, there's a water fountain along the way.

Go west on Front, take the north sidewalk/bike trail to avoid pollution, or the south side if you want another fountain. Keep going through that bike trail under the Gardiner, not sure what it's called, but it's a beaut.

Back to QQ. In the summer you'll be shoulder-to-shoulder with tourists and families, so stay on the north side o' the street and run along the bike lane. Make sure to cross at some point so you can run along the Music Garden and view the lake.

From here you're on your own. You can keep going along the Martin until you get to the CNE, or run up through the business district and go where the green lights take you. If you live way downtown this is one of the most accessible training routes there is.
