Hi! I'm a treadmill person myself but i'm still interested in a running buddy for motivation etc if anyone wants to be an e-buddy or something and we can train together and email and update.

also, if anyone has any tips for transitioning from a treadmill to the real world, i'd love to hear it. the gym is depressing but running outside makes me uncomfortable. (cars, running alone, and it just seems harder)

thanks! this is my first post btw! I'm a third year university student in Ontario; running a 5 K is my end of the year goal. if i can do that and keep my average above 75% then i get a $500 shopping spree :D

Good Afternoon,

I've started a group, SouthWest Metro Runnners of Minnesota... I know nice name, but I want to try a get specific with location.

Anyway, I've been running for a year, so still fresh in to the sport and formerly played football as a lineman. I've done well with dropping weight, but the cold months are causing more issues on the knees.

Anyone in the area, specifically Scott County know of any trailers/paths that stay pretty clean. My country roads in Jordan get a little sketchy, especially if I need to push my 20 month old daughter.

I look forward to hearing from any MN runners.

Next Event I'm running is the Irish for a Day 5k, they now offer a ten mile option for those wanting more distance (I might push myself and do it).

Take care,

Marc

Training alone in the evenings at this time of the year is getting increasingly boring. Would like to find another person to run with a couple evenings afterwork, and if that works out perhaps we can hook up for a long run on one of the weekend days. My pace is average - for my fast days, I usually do 6 to 6:20 miles; Normal days - 7-7:30 a mile, and long days anywhere from 8-9 minutes a mile. Typically, I never run less than 5 miles, but I am open to change! Ideally, I would like to find someone to meet up for an easy run one night, some tempo/speed work another night, and provided we can tolerate one another for longer than 50 minutes, we can maybe get together for a longer run (10-13 miles) over the weekend
