I really like the features available on the iMapMy application, but was dissapointed that it doesn't log my pace throughout my run. I would like to have an option where it automatically records my pace at an interval I choose(each mile, quarter mile, etc.) it would be great if I could upload this to my MapMyRun account.

Thanks! Looking forward to updates.

When i view my route on imapmyride, hows about an option to switch to satellite view on google map, as well as just plain map view. Sometimes when i'm out on my bike and i'm doing a route i've mapped beforehand, i use this view to check where i should be going (if its a nw ride). Most of the time im cross crounty so the google "map" view is pretty useless, where as "satellite" view would be really helpful. As i could see the trail.

Just a thought for future updates.

I've been unable to save last night's run, and initially I thought it was the buggy iMapMy... iPhone software at fault, but looking at the mapmyfitness.com website's "Recent Activity" thing, it looks like no-one has uploaded anything for the last 8+ hours.

Is there a general fault at the server end, rather than at the client end?

Those of you who like to run with music should check out the new Cadence app for the iPhone and iTouch. It categorizes your music by beats per minute (bpm) and lets you select a bpm playlist that matches your stride. An upgrade will be released soon that incorporates tempo and interval training programs. Find the Cadence app at the app store or at www.cadenceapp.com

been using the free version for 3 months and v. happy. the free version would reliably track my rides and runs, even if i locked the iphone to save battery. some comments on the new + version (downloaded 10/14)

(i) loses the data if you lock the phone
(ii) does not track correctly. today i did a short 3 mile run to the local pool. the previous app correctly measures 3 mi, the new app 7.6 mi. The route followed is identical! If I can run 7.6 mi in 22 min, NY marathon here I come.
(iii) it would be great if I could stop the data logging, exit the app and then upload later. i frequently ride in the mountain where there is no 3G coverage. would be good to be able to accurately record these rides.
(iv) would be cool if i could adjust the rate at which GPS locations are taken. this way i can perhaps control how much power is being used and save battery life for rides > 4hr.

Several complaints about the premium app
1. Can't edit a workout if it fails to record properly. Why can the FREE app edit, but this one I paid for can't????
2. The voice prompts give "pace" as if that is relevant to cycling! FREE app gives you your avg and current speed in mph, like the big boys do it.
3. Sometimes it won't make contact with the mother ship. Explain this--it correctly shows my route and then states I traveled 0.0 miles!! I went nearly 17 miles and it showed my little blue line exactly right. If it tracks the GPS what makes it not record the miles/speed/etc...???
If anyone can answer I'd appreciate it. Right now I'd like my money back. The free app isn't perfect, but it's better than this. This seems like a bad port of a running app.

What has happened to the premium application.

I had it installed and because of the icon bug on the 3GS the icons got messed up so I removed it and then attempted to re install it but in the meantime it had disappeared from the app store.

I have gone back to the free version but this doesn't support custom workouts so I have to modify them manually.

Hopefully this is just being re vamped and it will re appear again but it's rather frustrating that I have paid for it and it's no longer available and as I have no backup of this particular app I can't even restore a backup.

I have been using iMapMyWalk for over one month now. It is a great product and many thanks for it. Here are my suggestions for improving it even further:

1. For people like me who use reading glasses, it would be good to improve some of the font sizes and colors for better contrast so that we do not have to put our glasses every time we need to read it (quite cumbersome when trying to walk fast): Better to use a larger font for the GPS precision text under the green dot. Real time (time of day)is shown at the very top in a very small font by iPhone itself, but better to put it in a larger font as part of iMapMyWalk text. There is sufficient space for it. Duration (stopwatch) font and background color: there is very little contrast and it is almost invisible. Better to make it yellow or change the background color.

2. Besides the start/stop and the resume buttons, would be nice to have one more button to record lap markers. The distance and stopwatch info should be available on the route map at these marker points. ( so that we can compare it with the lap marker data of a HRM, e.g. Polar S625X, which has its own software called ProTrainer)

3. iMapMyWalk does not start when there is no internet connection, but does it really need the internet for starting? I think, it would need only for uploading the data. The GPS receiver can operate even without the internet connection. So, when we are hiking in a remote area, where there is no cellular phone or wifi reception, iMapMyWalk can still collect GPS + time data and can upload it later when the internet connection is available, after we return to an urban area.

4. There may be one small bug with uploading the data after stopping and trying it the first time. It works after pressing the home button and trying it again a second time.

5. Even when the iphone map shows my exact location very precisely, sometimes iMapMyWalk tries more than 30 seconds to get sufficiently precise GPS data. I assume iMapMyWalk uses the GPS data served by the iphone OS, so it should have it instantly as iphone can show it on its map very precisely already.

Has anyone else noticed this? On a manually mapped route, you end up with a notes page that has all of the streets turns. Not so when using iMapMyRide iPhone app to create a map. Why not? Is this something the MapMyRide team is aware of and addressing?

Also, it isn't clear whether one can "lock" the iPhone and have the recording feature still accurately log location. One one recent ride that I had manually mapped previously, the iMapMyRide app shaved off over 3 miles of a 30 mile route. It looked like the gps got lost, then extrapolated between last known way points, and the lines that connected 'em didn't follow any roads at all.

I have recently tried out the iPhone app and it worked fine, except it runs the battery down super fast and when I take my phone out of the pocket in my camelback it is super hot? It leaves the screen on the entire time but makes it dark.
