    Hey all,

Was just wondering if this has happened to anyone?

I use a Polar RS200 (have had it for just over a week) with the wearlink HR strap. This morning while running on the treadmill the strap burnt me. I was probably wearing it for about an hour when I started feeling discomfort from it. I now have a burn/irritation on my chest that runs from where the electrode areas sat on my chest.

I'm starting to wonder if I got a defective strap?

I've used those straps for years and never had a problem.  Send it back to polar

I always get a friction burn from my chest strap. More from the tightness of the band, and it rubbing on my skin, than from the electrodes. Usually after more than an hour of running. If you have sensitive skin, this is pretty normal.

The band can irritate and chafe if it's too loose. It's also possible that you could be allergic to the material in the band. I find this a bit on the outside chance as I tend to be allergic to almost anything (including latex) but have never had a problem with my strap, and I wear it very often.

I concur with a too tight strap as a potential cause.  I had to loosen mine after I started getting some chafing.
