Running Gear: Shoes for wide feet?

Hello I am very new to running, and I apoligize if this has been asked before but I have wide feet and have a hard time with most shoes. Is there a good brand that tends to make a slightly wider shoe?

I wear Brooks Ariel wide width for my long runs because my feet swell.  New Balance also makes a wide width.  Saucony also tends to have a wider toebox than Nike.

New Balance are really good for wide feet, I have also bought my first pair of GEOX NET too which suit my wide feet just as well and the soles breathe do there's no smell!! Amazing!! Been using for a few months now, occassionally without socks and they smell fresh, feet don't overheat so much while I'm running too!

I would say one thing to be careful about is the actual structure of your foot. I thought I had wide feet, but it took a good fitting (from my PT) to actually tell me that might feet weren't exactly wide, and my arches weren't high, but that they were actually thick (dancer's feet). My saucony's fit very well for that, but the moral of the story is to get someone who knows what they're doing (like a PT, a podiatrist, or a knowledgeable salesperson at a good running store) to take a look at your feet and make recommendations.....

I also like the Mizuno's ( I have the wave inspires) - however, be aware that they've stopped offering the wider widths. I am sad since I will have to change brands. The normal width shoes worked pretty well until one day my toe started hurting. I tried the same shoe in a wider width, and have had no problems, except I had to buy last year's model and Mizuno is no longer offering wider widths in future models...as far as my running store knows.

I use New Balance - they seem to run wider and also come in Wide.
