I have a large playlist of quite loud, high tempo songs, from classic rock through to indie, but my favourite right now is: Farewell to the Fairground - White Lies, if only for the repeated mantra "keep on running, k-keep on running, there's no place like home" :D

I have a bunch of running mixes but Eminem's "Lose Yourself" pretty much always makes it into mixes that are speedwork oriented...I always pick up my pace by 45 sec on this track...

I listen to live concert recordings of Jam Bands:

    1. Grateful Dead
    2. Phil Lesh & Friends
    3. Phish
    4. Etc.
Easy to get lost in an extended Jam and the continuous concert experience works well too

    Can't imagine running w/o music, although I often pass by many who do. Here's some of the stuff that's on my "runlist";

Jars of Clay - The Long Fall Back to Earth (Great for long runs)

Jennifer Knapp - Live (Great mix of acoustic folk/pop and mid-tempo rockers)

    Trip Lee - 20/20 (Phat hip/hop beats)

Third Day - Revelations (Great melodies)

Mike Farris - Salvation In Lights (Helps me keep a steady pace)

Ben Harper - Live From Mars Disc #2 (Nice for a long run where time/pace aren't a priority)

J'Son - Life on Life ("Run" & "Fight" are great motivators)

    Dez Dickerson - Oneman

Disciple - Southern Hospitality (I can only do so much of the double kick drum/screaming/guitar solo thing, but there are some great mid/slow tempo ballads here too. Great for short 4-5 mile runs)

Matt Kearney - Nothing Left to Lose

    Robert Randolph - Unclassified

Jon Foreman - Limbs and Branches (Another one great for long runs where time isn't an issue)

Jazz For the Open Road (A collection of uptempo instrumentals; great for 5-6 mile runs)

Just some of what I take out on the road with me. Great thread guys (and gals)!

    Keep running!

    Les

I just posted a playlist at http://www.squidoo.com/fastrunningmusic that is BPM measured so you can run to the beat of the music.

It has The Mighty Mighty Bosstones (my favorite running music band), Tokyo Police Club, and some others.

I plan on posting some more playlists for different BPM ranges, and will definitely keep in mind the tracks you all have listed here.

I'm seeing some decent stuff, but for me personally, I always listen to some combination of the following when I run:

The Crystal Method (almost all of it, especially the Drive: Nike+ Original Run album, or Community Service 1 or 2, seeing as all three of these are gapless)

Pendulum (Jungle Sound Gold (also gapless), In Silico, Hold Your Colour)

Dj Doboy (any of the Vocal Editions or any Trancequility - megamixes, each over an hour long)

    The Chemical Brothers

    The Prodigy

Obviously, I stick to mostly electronic (trance, breakbeats, DnB) because I feel it really gets me pumped and keeps me going (people always say it's repetitive, which I ignore, but this time it works to my advantage).
