I'm a novice runner and do not have much experience with rainy weather since we have been in a drought situation for almost 2 years.   Rain is scheduled for the Inaugural Rose Bowl Half-Marathon this Saturday (December 8, 2007).   What gear / apparel should I wear for a potentially rainy day with 56 degree weather?    Almost 1/3 rd of the course is on trails.....sounds like a muddy buddy race!

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

Hope you had a really good race and it wasn't too muddy!

A bit late but the best thing for maybe wet races is a plastic rubbish bag with arm and head holes cut in it. Then you can wear it as long as you need and just throw it away once you don't.

For feet I would say wicking socks are a godsend. I like the Nike DriFit ones myself but most brands do something similar. But still try and stay out of the worse of the puddles if you possibly can to minimise the water in shoes. Mud all over is fine, water in shoes is not fun!
