I am a runner - not a good one but a runner none the less.. and have finally found a store here in the UAE who stocks the garmins.

    Now.

    They have in stock a 405 and a 310.

Which is the better sports thingy and why? Essentially what would you buy?

I am aware that needs differ, so completely subjective opinions are welcome.

I'll be buying one or the other tomorrow, just need some pushing in one direction or the other.

If they only had one of them in stock, I'd have been happy with either.

(thanks aea@mmf for responding to the other thread by the way.)

    Cheers.

A few months ago there was a big discussion here about which was better, the 305 forerunner or the 405.  You may want to look back toward the spring months.  The 405 got panned because the "buttons" were smaller if you've got bigger fingers etc. and the battery life wasn't as good.  Of course the 305 was much bigger.  It is almost like wearing a radio on your wrist.  I ended up getting a great deal on a 305.  I like it a lot.  I have smaller wrists but am not bothered by the size once I get going.  It is easy to read without my glasses.  For me, I made the right choice with the 305 especially since the 305 was almost $100 cheaper.  Enjoy whichever you purchase!
