I decided I needed to add some hills to my workouts so I came up with this route leveraging hills near my home.

Do you think this is a reasonable hill workout for a beginning runner (I have several 5Ks and 1 10k under my belt)?  Are the hills long/steep enough and is there sufficient rise in elevation to be effective?

I generally push uphill hard (not full-out sprint - but good hard run) and take it easy on the down slope to recover a bit.

    Thanks for any input.

It really depends on your ultimate goals. It looks like a good workout. If you are planning to run more 10K and above runs you may want to add to it. Here are 2 hill workouts I have mapped. I run atleast 7 miles on these routes when I do hills every week. I push myself the entire way, up and down the hills. I love the workout at the forrest the best. Even though the bugs are terrible. Check them out.

I have no choice BUT to do hills. That is all our area is! Those both look like great challenges. Just for fun, here is my typical route.

Here's a nice hilly run, English Style - gets things moving nicely after a day's work.  This run has tuned my legs up nicely!
