Help!: MISSING ROADS

hello, i am very new to this site. I found it quite by accident. I am doing a 13.1 mile walk at midnight for a local charity and have been training locally.

there is a road that i use which is reletively new but has been open for quite a few months however it doesnt show on the map.

i sort of hopped cross country to see how far i had walked on this practice walk but wondered how frequently is the map updated with new roads.
