Can someone please tell me if it is ok to wear a moisture wicking t-shirt beneath a sweatshirt? It seems an odd question but I have a DriFire shirt that I was told by the distributor not to wear another shirt or sweatshirt over. I got a new Nike FitDry shirt today for my birthday but where I live it is still too cold to run in only a t-shirt.
Thanks for your help.
IMO I think it's just fine to wear a wicking t-shirt under a sweatshirt. It's not that much different then layering up for an assault on a mountainous peak. The wicking shirt will still pull the sweat from your body & then you're sweatshirt will just get soaked. Unless you're going out for a 50-mile run or something you should be fine. Just might want to get inside and get off that soaked sweatshirt when you're done so as not to get chilled.
Just my 2 cents and some of my own experiences. Training in the cold only makes you stronger!

Doc, that's not a bad idea!
I usually wear a brand of socks called DryMax during anything 1/2 marathon & up. Kind of the same thing you're talking about.
If only you could patent that idea...

Thank you for your comments. I ran the past couple of days with my FitDry shirt under a sweathshirt and it's worked out great. Today is only 37 degrees and when I got home I peeled off the sweatshirt and felt totally dry.
Thanks again. Happy running.
