    Hey everyone,

Today I ran/walked about 2.5 miles and I noticed early on that my ankles hurt. I ran before on the treadmill, but I thought that was why my ankles hurt, so when I ran outside today, I was kind of surprised.

Could this be related to the way I am running? I feel like I have good form. Could it be shoes? I bought a pair of Nike running shoes for about $60. They're not the most amazing running shoes, but they're what I could afford on my college student budget.

    Advice? I'm running a 5k on Oct 6.

    Thanks.

The ankle pain might be from harder or uneven terrain.  I solved most of my ankle pain problems by going with Dr. Scholl's sport insoles.

Sometimes ankle pain can be indicative of deeper foot problems, in which case you'd have to be fitted for orthodics, but try the over-the-counter stuff first.
