I am a novice looking for a belt for water bottles.  Have looked at a few on different websites, but I am wanting something that is not too big.  I don't do extremely long runs(5-6 miles max) but with the weather warming up I know that I am going to need some water on these runs.  Any advice is appreciated.

I bought the Camelbak Alterra 0.8 Liter for about $20. I love it. It rides on your hip like a belt and does not bounce around plus has room for my cell phone, compass, whistle, map and banana for trail runs.

I have an Amphipod belt. It has 2 10.5 oz bottles that clip to it. They work great, and you can always purchase more bottles if you decide to run longer. The belt is comfortable to wear and, depending on the model, have various pockets to carry cell phone, gels, etc.

I've got one from Road Runner Sports. Holds a 22 oz. bottle at an angle. Great for some who is right-handed as I am, might be a pain for a leftie. Has an adjustable elastic waistband, so it cinches in good and doesn't bounce around when you run. They seem to have discontinued this model and added one that holds a 22 oz.bottle and an additional 10 oz. bottle in the same configuration. They also have one that holds the bottle (22 oz.) horizontal with left and right access.

I just got a north face Sailfin. It's says it's a women-specific low-profile hydration pack with X-bungee to stash a windbreaker or vest.

The best part about it is the the magnetic connector. the hose doesn't flop around. http://www.thenorthface.com/opencms/opencms/tnf/gear.jsp?site=NA&model=AT0M&dc=6V6,100

It doesn't ride up too much. I've never had much luck with waste belts, and I would just carry my bottle, now I can run to work, with my water, ipod and lunch money.  : )
