    The marathon course will remain basically unchanged; an changes will result due to continuing construction around the 24 mile mark (the Good Latimer renovations).

    The Half Marathon course is under final review after several revisions due to objections from various city agencies. It appears that the last of the issues raised have been adequately addressed, and we expect final approval from the City within the next several weeks. The final course submission must be reviewed by the different City agencies impacted (DART, Dept of Transportation, Parks & Recreation Board, Police, etc), and then a meeting (sort of like a hearing) will be held for final discussion of any additional or outstanding concerns.

    Our main objectives in developing the new Half Marathon course were to :

    a) get rid of the old course that merged the half marathon participants with the full marathon participants;

    b) develop a course that did not entrap residents within the half and full marathon circles;

    c) make the half marathon course as fast and scenic as possible;

    d) make a half marathon course that could stand as its own race.I believe we have accomplished these goals, and the new half marathon course will be a runner favorite for years to come.
