i have a pouch called a blue bottle i can fit my phone id key and some money seal it up and put it on my arm . i can still use the phone through the pouch and even go for a swim after a long run 100% water proof. i clip my shuffle on to my shorts. or i also purchased their ipod pouch which i put my ipod into the pouch still room for key id and seal up the pouch and using the waterproof ear jacks i can go for a long run then do my laps all listening to my fave tunes.
i recommend you all check out this site. awsum product!!!!!!!!!!
buy an iPod shuffle
i keep an old empty bag of potato chips in the back of my truck, and just keep the keys in there, and mix it in with everything else. sometimes i'll even bring an old worn out sock, and roll the keys up in there.
It depends on what I'm running and for how long.
Everyday runs: iPod on armband, keys in shorts pocket
Long runs/trail runs: hydration backpack with pouch for cell phone
Races: amphipod's "micro pack" that clips into my shorts for keys and Gu and stuff...can't even tell it's there
I just carry my iPod nano in my hand, since I like to frequently change tracks mid-run (I'm finicky!). As for keys, I just slip my one car key or home key into my sports bra, along with a little bit of cash and a paper copy of my ID.
Never bothered to bring my cell phone (it's a Blackberry Curve, so kinda on the bulky side). I usually run where there are plenty of people though.... Do you guys think it's super important to keep a cell phone on you? I kinda like not being reachable for a certain period of time.
I DO need to carry kleenex with me on all runs b/c my nose runs like crazy whenver I exercise! If my shorts or pants don't have pockets, I neatly fold about 4 or 5 tissues and tuck them into the waistband of my shorts/pants.
I don't bring much with me. I have a small inside pocket on my shorts for a key. Kleenex in a shorts pocket. If I need to bring phone, I have an arm holder for an ipod. My mp3 hangs on my belt clip.
For those carrying kleenex, I'd refer you to the forum on boogers/snot rockets:

I, too, was apprehensive at first, but this has since revolutionized my winter training - and it's been useful in the summer as well. Never again fumble with sweaty (or not) tissues in the middle of a workout.
One of my local tri mags was advertising the urban tool sports holster. http://www.urbantool.com/hq/sportholster Looks really good for shorter runs. You can throw some gel packs, your Ipod and wallet. I've also found that wrapping my Ipod and wallet in Glad Press and seal is a good way of waterproofing it when running in the rain. http://www.glad.com/plasticwrap/pressnseal.php
Happy running
I only run with keys, so I usually end up doing the same thing ediblecrayonz does and just wear the keyring like a ring and hold them in my hand. Again, except for long runs (9 miles+) I don't carry anything else. On the longer runs my water bottle has a small pocket in it's holster that can hold my phone and keys, and again I use my hands to hold the bottle which holds the keys :).
Oh yeah, and I recommend a RoadID or something of the sort. I like having it since it has your personal info on it and can also have emergency contacts, blood type, etc. I like this option since I hate being distracted by whether or not my ID is still in my pocket or not.
Kleenex...ha! that's what shirt sleeves are made for :) Or just do the snot rocket thing :)
I usually run with absolutely nothing but a pair of shorts on. I'm not big into being plugged in and connected by brining a personal audio device or a cell phone, but I should probably keep some sort of identification and a house key with me. I have a keypad garage but the battery runs out more frequently than it should.
Of course, I don't go on super long runs (I haven't gone above 5 miles too often), so I don't need to worry about bringing hydration or electrolytes or anything.
I use Ultimate Direction--water belt. It holds my cell, id, metro pass, key, money and I'm sure it could hold a packet of refueling gel too. It's great and can be clipped high or low on your waist. All my runs are an hour or more.
I hope that helps.
I run with only my cell phone, house key, pass and visa card. My running shirt has a little pocket with a zipper where I can put it. I also sometimes carry a fuel belt that has a pouch and I can put things in there too.
Hope that helps,
Elaine
