Ok, I have been running on and off for about two years now, and I have to confess that I really don't like it most of the time.  I started running because I was grossly overweight (5'4" tall and 190lbs). I am actively pursuing a career in law enforcement, for which there are physical requirements, and so two years ago, I got a trainer, worked out a lot, and started running.

I love working out. I love the gym, and I do strength training probably close to 5 days a week. The running though, still gets to me. There are days that I do my 4-5 miles, and seem to not have any issues... and there are other days when the 3-4 mile runs are tough to get through.

I have tried listening to music, I have tried getting running partners, I have tried just about everything I know of to make it more appealing to me (including bribing myself with a trip shopping, or a weekend away) and it's not working.

I want to like running. I know that it, in combination with diet and strength training, has helped me lose 46.5 lbs. I should revere it. I don't.

I've plateaued on my weightloss, and my trainer says that I should up my mileage running, but I have lost my motivation, and I guess my focus. Suggestions???

    Thanks,

    Carrie
