Welcome to the dog days of training people. Hang in there as race day is not far away now. We have a couple of things to discuss this week and we would like feedback from all of you regarding our ideas to make run club better. We need to get the attendance up if we are going to maintian this program. Any ideas you might have will be helpful.

First things first however this week the scheduled runs are as follows as we are only 8 weeks out from the Fox Cities Festival of Races.

Half Marathon Trainers should plan on  a solid 6 mile run per the Higdon Plan

Full Marathon Trainers are looking at 18 miles this weekend with a stepback next week and then a 20 miler the next week 12 the following and then one last 20 miler beofore you taper.

Shauna and I feel that since the drop in is not getting the use we expected we would like to get everyone's thoughts on having one 6:30 start time for all of the runs. This would allow for some of these longer runs to be finished up earlier and perhaps create a more diverse group of paced runners. Please respond to your thoughts on this to either Shauna or I via e-mail. If you have any other ides to improve the group feel free to add them.

One thought I have is on the week of August 31st we run on the Wiouwash Trail for or last "long run" of the year and set up coolers at 5, 10 mile marks on an out and back course with support fluids and food and gels. Let me know what you all think of this.

    Thanks

    Bob

    Hello Bob

6:30 is definitely the best time for me. Gives me chance to get my run done and then off doing stuff with the family. It could be good to have a more diverse group out there. Good idea for the Wiouwash Trail.
