    Hi, All! I'm looking to run my first half-marathon around New Year's eve and am hoping to do so in a beautiful and warm location. Anybody have any suggestions anywhere in the world? Thanks!

    How about the P.F.Chang Rock n Roll AZ on Jan 13?  It's going to be my 1st half as well- I've been told by experienced friends that it is a great one for a first.  The course is flat, there is lots of entertainment and you can't beat the weather here in January!  Check out rnraz.com

    Arizona is beautiful in January!

    We have a half marathon here in Austin, TX on February 18, also. It can be a little cold. The course is a little hilly, but it's not horrible by any means. Austin is a very fun town and very fitness friendly.

    You can do the Walt Disney World Half Marathon in Orlando, FL, which is the first Saturday of January. I did it this past year, it was January 6th. Just an option for the east coast :)

    We have the White Rock Marathon and Half here in Dallas. It will be Dec 9. It will be a good race. Runtherock.com. It could be warm or cold either way. It varies year to year.

    It's one month before New Year's--on December 1--but it's a beautiful half in (usually) sunny Orlando. The OUC half marathon is popular and it's a great route  through the downtown area (but there is some brick). The weather can be mild, cold, or hot. You never really know in Central FL but December is usually a pretty mild month.

     Hope you find your half!

    There's the Stevenage half, 4/11/07, Marlow, Bucks, half same day -Grand Union Canal Half (Watford) 11/11/07 - Norwich Half 2/12/07 - Jersey (Channel Islands) Half 18/11/07-Downton (Salisbury) half 25/11/07 -THE LUTON MARATHON 2/12/2007- Bedford half 9/12/07-

     

    Here's hoping it'll be 'beautiful and warm' for all these upcoming events here in the UK- transatlantic flights are pretty cheap at the moment !
