Share your stinky stories with the community -- you know we all have them!  Also, would love tips on how to get rid of the dryfit funk after a while... any suggestions?

There is a special detergent for dryfit stuff, I can't remember the name though.  It will actually make your dryfit clothes wick again.  The wicking action stops working after 15-18 washes.

For those with camelbacks, when you are done with your camelback, dry it and put it in the freezer.  This keeps stuff from growing in the, difficult to clean, water line.

With regards to freezing items to keep bacteria from growing...I was told to do this with my running shoes. Seemed to work for a little bit I still had to throw them away..they smelled horrible. Has anybody else heard of this working?

I don't think I would be allowed to put my shoes in the freezer.  I do wash my shoes though, you may want to try that.  Take out the sole and wash them with a couple towels so they don't bounce around.  Take them out of the washer and stuff them with newspaper until the dry.  Don't use the dryer to dry them.  I also just use regular soap.  Even still, you have to toss them after a while.

Not that my shoes smell like roses, but in college I had a roomate one year whose shoes stunk so bad that he could not keep thm in the apartment. They had to stay out on the porch of the old converted Victorian house we lived in. Oddly enough, no one ever stole them.Wink

My cycling buddy and I were on the last leg of our weekly 25 mile ride.  We were at a particular point that did not have more than a foot of shoulder to ride on.  There was the carcass of a rather large deer in the nearest lane.  We were about 30 feet from passing the deer, when a suburban passed and swerved just in time to hit the deer with its from passenger side tire and bumper.  The deer exploded!  There was a cloud of deer matter that fortunately pattered to ground before we rode through it.  Needless to say we checked ourselves from head to toe for pieces of deer.  It was one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen, as well as one of the coolest.  It also did not smell so good.
