After I run my toes and the pads of my feet burn. I wear Adidas sneaks with mesh all over and they are really airy, but I can't shake this feeling in my feet. I have made sure to wash my feet really well to prevent athlete's foot in the shower after. I know it's not athlete's foot because the bottoms of my feet aren't cracked or itchy.

Does anyone else feel this sensation after a run?

Any ideas for how to help my feet feel better? They can burn for up to about 6 hours after.

I don't know if this is the deal, but one of the biggest causes for a burning sensation is "hot foot" from rubbing. When you hike you pay very close attention to any part of your foot that feels hot because it tends to be an early warning sign (although not very early.... requires immediate attention) for blisters. The thing that makes me doubt that that's your problem is the large amount of area you're getting the burning in. Usually hot foot is confined to a few discrete points that are crying out for moleskin..... Good Luck!

Oh, one thing that you could potentially try that would pretty much tell you if it's hot foot is try using antiperspirant on your feet before a run.... this makes them stop sweating and really reduces the incidence of blisters. If eliminates the problem, then you may want to try a less drastic solution than antiperspirant, like socks that wick better.
