    MapMyFitness folks,

Please, please, bring out a MapMy.... app for Android. With the number of handsets that are being rolled out for Android, and the Dream/G1 already having GPS, this seems like a great untapped market. And, it would make my life a heck of lot easier. Thanks.

Can I add my vote there? I would definitely use it - and pay extra for it.

Today I recorded my run on My Tracks on my Android phone, and uploaded it to MapMyRide. It turned out to be amazingly easy. I've blogged about it here. I'd still pay for something which linked Android to MapMyRun more directly, because the MapMyRun user interface is much better for annotating maps than the raw GoogleMaps interface is.

I stopped using Map my run when I bought my G1 after emailing both support and the developer of the android app asking about its status and not receiving any response from either.

I now use the buddy runner app available on the Android market. It is one of the better apps but still not as good as mapmyrun could be. Please release it so I can get back to using yor superior website.

Adding in my vote.  Or, could i import from google maps?  myTracks uploads easily to Google, but how do I get that into here???

dblmc, did you ever get an answer?  I'm wondering the same thing.  It'd be really great to have this in place before the Tour de France challenge, since I have no intention of buying an iPhone or a Garmin just for that.  My phone works just fine, minus that one little bump over.

If your phone imports to something like Google Earth I believe it can export GPX files, or you can use a third party converter to convert the data to GPX files. There is no guarantee that they will import, and if they do they will not be verified.

I've been using velox, since as a bike computer app it's a bit nicer than mytracks, but the tracks aren't compatible with whatever the mapmyride import wants to read. However, it appears there's some android business in the works:

Just use My Tracks from Google for Android, save maps and import directly into MapMyWhatever. Works a treat!!

Adding my vote here - this is the one thing missing from my Android phone. Please, please, please, please, please come out with an app!??!?!?!? MyTracks is a PITA to try to get uploaded - such an annoying manual process.

Even better... since you guys did an app for the ADC (which is what http://www.mapmyfitness.com/android/ is the documentation for), how about just releasing what you already developed?????

It doesn't seem to be making any difference, but I'll add my vote to this.  I use EveryTrail.com's android app, but would love to switch over to here if there was an Android App...

I'll have to add my vote as well. It's a growing platform, and I'd love to see MMR released for it, especially since much of the work seems to have been done already.

I'd become a member of MMR if an app (even beta) was out for android.  Is there even a beta I can test?  No hand holding needed here - if it erases my phone or hdd fine - I just want to easily record my training rides.

    Thx
