I'm big on music while I run...so if anyone has any killer playlists, feel free to private message me. I'm about to put a new one together, but the one I've been rocking out to over the last couple of weeks is:

    1. Lose Yourself - Eminem
    2. Naveed/Life - Our Lady Peace
    3. Escape Artist - Sage Francis
    4. You - Atmosphere
    5. Gangsta Blues - A.R. Rahman
    6. All These Things That I've Done - The Killers
    7. Glycerine - Freshman Fifteen (this might be hard for you to get a hold of)
    8. You Owe Me An IOU - Hot Hot Heat
    9. Ohio is For Lovers - Hawthorne Heights
    10. Kill - Jimmy Eats World
    11. Kody - Matchbox 20
    12. Use Somebody - Kings of Leon
    13. Why Georgia - John Mayer
    14. Hands Down - Dashboard Confessional
    15. The Zephyr Song - Red Hot Chili Peppers
    16. People Get Ready - The Frames
    17. How to Save a Life - The Fray
    18. Steady as She Goes - The Raconteurs
    19. Starry-Eyed Surprise - Paul Oakenfold

I tried to front-load it with songs that pumped me up, and then varied a little between fast-paced and mellow. I called it "See Spot Run," but, y'know, whatever works for you.

    The playlist runs a 1:20:48.

I've found the only thing I really enjoy running to is trance.

My first choice is almost always A Voyage Into Trance: Vol. 2 by Dave Kendall and if it's a long run, I'll add A Voyage Into Trance by Paul Oakenfold, whom I notice is in your playlist but I'm not familiar with that track. I'll have to check it out :-)

I'm pretty sure both these albums are available on eMusic.

And I love  All These Things That I've Done and How to Save a Life, for that matter, I just couldn't imagine running to it.

    Hey zipcat,

Thanks for joining and thanks for the suggestions. I have never heard of "Running Up That Hill." I just looked it up and watched the video (typical 80's and maybe one of the funniest unintentionally-humorous music videos I've ever seen).

I look forward to  your future suggestions.

Linkin Park has lots of good workout songs! From Hybrid Theory: Crawling, Papercut, In the End Pushing Me Away, One Step Closer From Meteora: Don't Stay, Somewhere I Belong, Faint, Figure .09, From the Inside From Minutes to Midnight: Given Up, Bleed It Out, What I've Done, No More Sorrow All their songs are short and fast and loud with heavy guitar.Well, maybe not What I've Done, but a lot of the songs are great for getting you up that hill, or pushing you to sprint.

I just added a new song to my playlist-- not sure if anyone knows, but Kenny Loggins' son Crosby is a new artist who just came out with an album that has some good songs for running.  I particularly like the single "Seriously" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sS1Z0_HYr-s)  The album, "Time to Move," has a lot of great songs on it.  Great new stuff to mix up my playlist!

additionally...i have done a few runs using beatless ambient music by steve roach.

magnificent void and atmospheric conditions come to mind.

its just a bunch of shifting swishes and throbs with no distinct or constant tempo.

i usually ran in an isloted street at night- the music was pleasant for night running.

and helpful for forgetting about running while running.
