When i view my route on imapmyride, hows about an option to switch to satellite view on google map, as well as just plain map view. Sometimes when i'm out on my bike and i'm doing a route i've mapped beforehand, i use this view to check where i should be going (if its a nw ride). Most of the time im cross crounty so the google "map" view is pretty useless, where as "satellite" view would be really helpful. As i could see the trail.

Just a thought for future updates.

Best Way to train for a half marathon

I have been running consistently for 8 months and just completed my first 10km race. I have registered for a half marathon in 6 months time and then a full 4 months after. I have been building my running base and currently average 40km (24 mi) a week with my long runs at 14km - 18km (8.5 mi - 11 mi). My plan was to use a 17 week training plan to prepare for the race. So the question is should I:

a. Use a half marathon training plan and work on speed during the shorter runs to prepare for the half marathon race?

or

b. Train for the half using a full marathon plan ensuring a proper taper before the race?

The first option would seem to increase my speed versus my endurance where as the other would work on endurance. Any thoughts.

My wife and I have decided to get a bit more serious about running and are looking for some people to help us stay motivated. We are very much beginners (almost embarassingly so).

Over the past two years we go through 4-5 month stretches where we run ~3 times a week, and then go through 3-4 month stretches where we do nothing. We would like to keep it a bit more consistent this time as we head into another cycle to try and keep in shape.

If any other beginners (or anyone) out there would like to like to join a group to help keep up the encouragement send me a message. Enjoy

Ability to Import Polar XML files

I know that this suggestion has been posted at least once before, but bears repeating. Being able to import HRM files is great, but many Polar models can't provide data in that format.

Training session data can, however, be easily exported in XML format from a user's personal training diary @ www.polarpersonaltrainer.com. The XML schema is specified at http://www.polarpersonaltrainer.com/schemas/ped-1.0.xsd. Below is a sample file showing one training session. The amount and type of data will vary depending on the device that recorded it. This is from a CS200, with pretty basic workout data. The data is always in metric, with distance in meters, weight in kg, height in cm, speeds in km/hr.

To keep things rolling (or running) over the winter, I just
wanted to offer that if anyone needed a ride to a weekend race or group run but
didn’t have transportation, please feel free to contact me. I know Mr. Dumschott,
Mr. Woermer, and Mrs. Therrien said they were willing to help out with rides as
well. I haven’t talked to other parents, but I bet more would pitch in if asked.
So, if you want to run with the group and just can’t get from there to here,
don’t be shy – speak up and something could probably be worked out (but make

Is there a general fault at the server end, rather than at the client end?

You need to change the % Progress from a string field to a number field, main reason is because when you sort off of that column you get all of the "9" on top, which is right if they are 98.4% but it is also showing 9.2% on the top. I am searching primarily on the Leaderboard for Goals.

I live off of Evergreen Blvd in Browns Mills, NJ and am looking for someone to run with. I still consider myself a novice runner, although my job requires me to do fitness training on a regular basis. So, I have some experience in running.

I'm looking to get more comfortable with distance running and would like to run in a local marathon someday. For now, I'm only running for personal fitness reasons, but it's growing on me.

I don't care if you're an experienced runner who wouldn't mind running some tempo runs (?) with a novice now and then; or if you're new to this as well and would like the motivation of having a running partner. Anywhere in between is cool too.

I'm 5'7", about 195lbs, in my mid-30's. A family guy with a wife and kids. I occasionally run with my black lab, Maximus Decimus Meridius (Max for short). If you want to include your four-legged partner, we can work that in, too. I usually run first thing in the morning. My days off are kind of hard to keep up with, so we wouldn't have to run together all the time, couple times a week or even every other weekend or something. Otherwise, I tend to start my morning run around 4:30 - 5:00 AM on work days.

Anyway, hit me up if interested!
