So i have been using the same style shoes for the past few years(Brooks Adrenalines) and this time it was recommended to me to get the Brooks Ravenna. I did a little over 6 miles today in the new shoes and my right knee was bothering me a little bit afterwards. When it comes to running I don't like to take any chances on injuries. Do you think I should try the shoes out again or go back to my old style?

For some background...I have been running for years and average about 40-50 miles a week. Never had any knee problems, but used to have and still worry about stress fractures.

Can the same unit of measurement be used for all measurements? It's very consufing to see "at 1.56 miles, for 3 mi 2490ft" can a toggle be added or the display simplified to show the same increment either miles/decimle point or miles/feet be selected for use throughout. Granted it makes sense if the "for" section is less than say 750 feet, but beyond that is should be unified into one OR the other measureing system.

Hi,

I've been using the MApMyRide site for quite a while and usually visit every week or so to add my rides. I use 'add workout' usually beacuse the 'import workout' option needs editing anyway and it works out quicker to use 'add workout'

I would like to see a few upgrades if possible:

more drop down lists to time taken, HR etc , similar to start/end time

take advantage of widescreens a bit more, the site requires a lot of scrolling up and down for not a lot of benefit. There seems to be a lot of space between fields. I often zoom to 75% to see more on each screen.

for workout view at the end, put all the data on one page, not under tabs of detail, map, lap and gear

and on the main page... add the date of the last post in the 'recent cycling forums' section

Thanks

there are several good links in the runners forum about running with backpacks and the NEGATIVE effect it can have on the body.

does the same apply in cycling? [For running the problem is the strain on specific muscles; far less a concern on a bike.]

can you add the pack weight to your body weight and still get an accurate calories burned figure on MMR?

i tried adding it and the calories burned does show an increase, just do not know if it okay to use anything but true body weight for that calculation.

comments appreciated.

I'm in cross country. Every year, I do better and better through the first 2/3 of the season. Then, as soon as we start backing off on the really hard workouts, my times get significantly worse. I went from a 16:41 to a 17:50 this year. I did get my time back to 17:30 by the end of the season, but I couldn't even get close to the 16s again. This has kept me from going to state for two years now. Also, I always feel the benefits of a workout two or three days after instead of the usual two weeks afterwards. Is it possible just to recover and peak really quickly, so that after one easy week, my peaks already gone? What could be other reasons for my inability to peak? Does anyone have any suggestions?
