- The Dempsey Challenge presented by Amgen is a non-competitive fundraising event for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center. This year's Dempsey Challenge includes two Run/Walk events on October 13th, a new 5K and a new 10K. The cycling events will be held on October 14th and feature five distances; 10, 25, 50, 70 and 100 miles.
