North Olympic Discovery Marathon Relay - Leg 2

152 ft

Begins in:
Sequim, WA, United States
Created By:
2nd leg of the North Olympic Discovery Marathon Relay. At Rhodefer Road, the course turns right and runs by Carrie Blake Park, a previous start of the NODM. Miles seven through nine are straight, flat, fast and well supported by the residents of the northern neighborhoods of Sequim. This is a good stretch to hit your best stride. During mile ten, the ODT crosses one of the signature features of the course: the Dungeness River Railroad Bridge. This beautiful structure has been magnificently restored after flooding in 2015, and gives runners a huge boost at this point—not just from the scenery but also from the mass of cheering supporters that congregate at the bridge. Start is at the 1st Exchange Zone on the corner of W.Sequim Bay Rd and Rhodefer. Finish is on the west side of Railroad Bridge (E. Runnion Road). This is miles 5.6-10.3 of the marathon course.
