Waterford Human Powered Rally - Grand Prix course
Technical Course - that utilizes all of the track and the cross-over roads and pass-thru gate at the entrance. It adds new twists like going in the opposite of the usual traffic direction on several parts of the course including going up the hill the hard way. Also it passes through the Esses in both directions (well this course doesnt). There are turns that simulate how the Road Race was run in the past, including how we came off the access road at the bottom of the hill and through the gate at the entrance. It also detours into the infield roads twice and explores the back part of the lot near the swamp where riders have never raced before. The climb up the pass through to the straightaway is a difficult turn and short steep incline, but manageable even in a streamliner. The final turn back onto the road is the same turn racers take when coming out of pit row and lining up at the Start line. It will be relief for riders probably by this point after all the technical sections, to make the final dash to the line. In all, it should be a short and interesting race for all, and definitely not boring. Although riders will be traveling in oppossite directions on the course at various times, the timing will be such that they won't likely be in that same spot at the same time. - a 2 mi cycling route in Clarkston, Michigan
