This was a really cool idea for a run that I finally got to doing. It is a perimiter of Northboro. The run never leaves the town but stays as close to the edge of it as roads will allow. Except for getting to and from my house, the route never backtracks. I would recomend running the route so as to go up Ball Hill and down Green Street as I found from experience that doing the opposite is extremely difficult, especially towards the end of the run.

Miles 4 - 7 are fairly flat to ready you for the end. If you survive the 1.5 miles of 7% grade starting at mile 7 you can do anything! The last mile gives you a flatter warm-down to the finish. Park in the culda-sac but not in front of driveways or gates. NOTE: Have a buddy with a cell to call 911's cardiac unit when you're done (or stay focused and survive the route alone).
I copied this route from cawhit21. This is a good route if you live in Ghent or the ODU area. Since it loops, you can start anywhere on the route. While there are no hills, the route includes two underpasses at 21st Street, which you will pass once on Colley and once on Hampton Boulevard. Be warned: You will cut through a slightly sketchy part of town. Therefore, run this route during bright daylight hours only. Lastly, be careful of the traffic. You will find plenty of it on Hampton Boulevard and some on Colley. Also, while you are looping from Hampton down Brambleton Avenue to Colley, you will hit a grassy stretch. Keep an eye out for dips and debris that may cause you to trip. You may also opt to cut through the hospital and back to Brambleton rather than running in the grass. I like the grass. It gives my knees a break.

This is the unofficial racecourse for the 2009 New Balance Girls on the Run of Atlanta 5K, held on Sun Nov 15 in Kirkwood, a neighborhood in the DeKalb Co. portion of the City of Atlanta.

The race began and ended near the Atlanta Youth Soccer Association fields, and ran through the neighborhood streets of Kirkwood. In terms of hilliness, this route is not particularly challenging, especially in relation to other intown races.

As you can see from the distance, the course is quite short for a 5K measuring out at just over 3 miles.

Trackpoints were downloaded from my Garmin Forerunner and are as accurate as can be expected. I did modify some points where it was clear from the aerials that the route was off. I was a participant in the race and am not affiliated with its organizers or sponsors.
