Run Description
Beginning at Rockwell School, this is a totally flat route through Bristol's main street (Hope). About 3/4 mile into the run you pass the entrance to Colt State Park (442 acres of public park along lovely Bristol Harbor). As you continue, Hope Street is mostly tree-lined and offers views of well-kept homes and properties - and historical homes as you approach downtown Bristol's Historic District. Downtown there is all-marble exterior Colt School, the Linden Place mansion and the Burnside Building (old town hall) along with cafes, post office, shops, and more. Once past downtown (staying on Hope Street) you run by The Herreshoff Marine Museum/America's Cup Hall of Fame located directly across from beautiful Narragansett Bay/Bristol Harbor where you begin again to see more historic homes, many overlooking the water. The run then takes you by the famous Lobster Pot restaurant with a serene view of Bristol Harbor/Walker's Cove. Just past the Lobster Pot and still along the water you travel up to Fairview Ave cul-de-sac where I make my turn and head back the same out and back route to Rockwell School.
