My "Friend" (quotes intentional as I am not sure if he was trying to kill me or not) invites me out for a short ride. Less than 5 miles....."No problem" I say with a little cockiness in my voice. Ok we start off what seems to be a flat area, however if you know the area you would understand that in the southern desert area flat areas are decieving as they are a steady climb to the top. "Let me tell you the trail had some loose sand so be careful". YEAH not some loose sand it was like riding on the beach. As I slow a bit my back tire looses grip and down I go clipped in still (Yay all this in less than 1/8 of a mile in). ok lets make this story a bit shorter. we get to the "top". Ha there is never a top on this trail but my "Friend" tells me we are there. We go down a nice technical part and have to get to the top again. So I spin my way to the top and almost DIE of a heart attack. Now we are almost 1/2 way through the course and he tells me the next part is pretty crazy as the horses loosen the rocks even more through this part. A few more switch backs Trees (yes trees in AZ) Rocks (or should I say large boulders). And then we climb again. You get the story..... that lasted for 1.5 hours until we got to the bottom again. Great trail I will ride with him again...but will be more cautious on who I call a Friend from now on....Just kidding AJHAVOC you are a great friend who pushes me to the limit.
