Very beautiful trail run in the Auburn SRA. Start from Highway 49 at the Confluence. Known as the Confluence, due to the meeting of the North and Middle Forks of the American River. You follow the trail along the North Fork. It runs under the 730 feet high Foresthill Bridge. This bridge is the highest in California, the 3rd highest in the USA and the 9th highest bridge in the world. The trail starts out flat but as you make the turn toward the Dam it starts to go uphill. It goes up hill until you reach the paved Lake Clementine Road. The road drops down hill at this point to the Dam and Lake Clementine.
