09 Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon Course Final 13Sep09
This is the certified and approved course for 2009. The access to the Ambassador Bridge ramp is not as direct as we would have liked, but is required to share the space with the vehicle traffic in the service plaza. Our wave start should prevent any bottlenecks, and once on the bridge, we have two running lanes for the entire length. To meet the required distance, we added a turnaround on E. Jefferson near Burns St (Mile 18), but we were able to eliminate several turns in the vicinity of Rivard St in the home stretch (near Mile 25). Enjoy your run or walk!
