- Great scenic route. Park at the Fairgrounds and follow Old Barnstable Road to Carriage Shop Road where you will turn right and run past Falmouth County Club. You will also pass a nice cranberry bog. As you continue westbound cross Sandwich Road onto Hatchville, where you will pass 3 old farms. Take in the smell of wild grapes on this hilly, scenic, rural road. You'll continue straight onto Sam Turner Road and run all the way to BallyMeade Golf Course (although you probably won't see it). At the end of this road turn right at Route 151 and take an immediate right onto Boxberry Hill Road. This road twists through the Cape Cod County Club. Follow this to Ashumet and turn left on Sandwich Road. Here, at the intersection of 151 you will encounter the only traffic light on this route. (If you do not want to cross 151 which will be very busy in the summer, just turn right on Sandwich Road, and left back onto Carriage Shop Road and go back that way). You will be heading North on Sandwich Road toward Otis ANGB. Turn right on Currier Road where you will pass Ashumet Pond on your left. Your next left on Ashumet Road where you will pass the wildlife preseve. With a right turn on Ashumet again (it takes a 90 degree turn) you will be encompassing the Barnstable Fairgrounds. Cautiously cross Route 151 (crosswalk on right) and follow Ashumet/County Road to the end. Turn right on Old Barstable and you have completed this 10.8 mile loop. I hope you enjoyed this scenic run.
