- Half of this run is on soft surface trails in the open backcountry. A quarter is on packed dirt roads. The rest is asphalt. Clockwise has a long hill up Griggs Road. Counter clockwise has a long hill with a steep end in the first mile. There are a few variations here. You can run it counter clockwise and turn around when you hit Griggs to avoid any traffic or roads. You can also jump on the new Fork Trail that runs from the intersection of Poston/Griggs to just below the apex of the scenic overlook south of Red Tail park. The new Fork Trail has lots of hills and is about 1.5 miles long.
