This is one of the classic Stockton walks and is more interesting than walking a school track. Victory Park is an older, pleasant park with large oaks and ample shade. The park perimeter walk is a tad short of a mile, but local legend has it, that if on each circuit of the park you detour to walk to the front of the museum and up and down the steps, you will have your mile. It is a safe walk, with many walkers present almost any time of day. When you have completed your walk, check out the Pioneer Haggin Museum. It is a gem, with local interest, but also some world class paintings, including some impressionists, and early western paintings by Bierstadt and others.
