I started running in June 2007 & so far I'm loving it :) My current goal is to run the 10k by the end of October 2007 & run the half-marathon by summer 2008. If I keep up the training & my body responds well to it, I am considering running a marathon either in 2008 or 2009.
I follow Hal Higdon's training plan for novice runners, which is mostly geared towards training for the Chicago La Salle Bank marathon.
