I started running in 1984 when I signed up for the Falmouth Road race. I trained all summer and ran a good race. I loved the focus that having a goal race can provide. From then on I mostly stuck with 5k/10k races. Did my first marathon in 1992. When we had kids, I dropped the race distances back to half marathons. Now that the kids are older, I'm back to marathon distance. I also run with the kids in local 5k's. It's a great way to get the family up and going on a weekend morning.
