DONE!
Well, here we are, I am officially a graduate of the C25k program! I quit WoW (after 4.5years of playing) on 7/30/2009 and I started this program on Monday, August 3, 2009. I finished the first week, and promptly came down with a summer cold for a week. (Runners are supposed to be healthier!) I then started W1D1 all over again on 8/16/2009 and healthily ran up until W8D1, where I missed another week again. I repeated W8D1, and have promptly kicking butt from there.
On my final run of the program, I passed my daughter happily swinging with my MIL at the local park. On the way back I passed them again, and my daughter and I blew kisses back and forth :). As I passed my house (had to yell not to go back in just yet!), my husband stepped outside with our other daughter and waved me along as well! He took a pic of me after I was all done and caught my breath.
I've lost about 25 lbs on the program and gained a new level of confidence in my ability to complete something I never thought I could. I never thought in a million years that I'd be running. The next step is to sign up for a 5k, and be able to run just over another .5mile - 5k distance.
What's next, running for LIFE! Baby steps. |
