Marsden Point, New Zealand

It all starts with a splendid kayak past the Refinery, crossing the turbulent Whangarei Harbour entrance and landing in Urquharts Bay, followed by a steep ascent up Mt Lion and a slippery climb (winter) up Bream Head. Then the knee shattering, muscle cramping half-sprinting half-falling tumble down to Oceans Beach. The Big Dipper awaits you as you make the final run leg back to Urquharts Bay the road way. If you're legs are caving in by now, no worries as you give them a rest or cramp on the return kayak back to the Refinery. All in all the trek makes for a great day out with your brothers testing your fitness or lack of it.
