Blue Ridge Parkway Trail, Out-N-Back fm Hendersonville Highway (almost) to French Broad
This is pretty decent trail, not too rugged, but you have to keep your eyes open. I'd rate it as more challenging, footing-wise, than Shelby Farms/Tour de Wolf/Wolf River Bottoms trails. It is also more hilly in parts. Watch out for the low-hanging tree when fording the creek about 2-miles out. I got across the creek a-okay, but that danged tree laid me out when I "kissed" it with my forehead! Take care when crossing BRP. There is no sidewalk on the surface road. Note that crossing interstates/rivers requires using the sidewalk which does exist on the overpasses along the BRP. Also, pay attention to trail markers. For this run, which I have made a couple of times now, I just get on the BRP, westbound, from Hendersonville Highway (the road from the Biltmore/Asheville to the airport) and park in one of the gravel/open shoulder areas present almost immediately upon entering the BRP. - a 9.6 mi running route in Asheville, North Carolina
