This was my favourite running route when I lived in Bearsden, nr Glasgow, in the 1980s and 90s. Park the car at a small car park on the corner of Drumclog Ave and Mugdock Road. THe run is mainly off road; only about a km is on the road. THe run follows the West Highland Way for about a mile, then turns sharp right back up the hill through lovely woodlands. Across some bogs (there were railway-sleeper paths when I last did it) and into Mugdock Country Park up a steep slope. Relax and enjoy some flatish tracks around the park past Mugdock Castle and the other one (who\'s name I forget), then out onto teh road above the Kyber Pass. Lovely fast downhill (I can still remember the slap of running shoe on tarmac as I went down here). Turn back east along the West Highland Way to the start. \n\nThis run was, for me, very special; 37 minutes of glorious scenery and varied, hilly terrain. To be fair, it was usually raining, and almost always muddy, but hey. One day I will get back there and do it again.
