Glens Falls, NY, United States

Beginning above the Hudson River in Glens Falls, this 153-mile four-day tour can be traveled by car or canoe, but the experience by bike is one that instills lasting Adirondack memories. Traveling northwest through the heart of the Adirondacks on U.S. Highway 9, State Rt. 8, State Rt. 28 and State Rt. 12, one of your first vistas is the north shore of Lake George, a 32-mile long crystal gem rimmed by some of the most majestic peaks in the lower gateway to the Park. The route then follows the mighty Hudson River into the Adirondack Mountains passing through Warrensburg, North Creek, North River and Indian Lake before reaching its northernmost point in Blue Mountain Lake. From there, the route traces the Fulton Chain of Lakes through Raquette Lake, Inlet and Eagle Bay en route to the bustling community of Old Forge. Beyond Old Forge, the Central Adirondack Trail continues south and out of the Park through dense woodland before reaching Foresteport, Remsen, Floyd and eventually the historic city of Rome.
