W&OD Trail, Belmont Ridge Rd to Battlefield Pkwy and back
I parked at the intersection of the W&OD Trail and Belmont Ridge Rd. I started my run jogging North/West along the trail, starting at mile marker 29.5. The trail brought me past the Luck Stone Quarry Overlook. What a big, rocky hole! Continuing along the trail, I crossed over Goose Creek and Sycolin Creek. They were both rapidly flowing, with water elevations higher than normal due to yesterday's 1-plus inches of rain (I can't wait to get a kayak). The trail then ran along the edge of Kincaid Forest for the next mile or so. I turned around at the Battlefield Parkway overpass and headed back to the truck - a 5.4 mi running route in Ashburn, Virginia
