I go to school in the neighboring town of Plymouth, NH. There are plenty of back roads and hills around, in Ashland and Plymouth.

I haven't ridden this route yet because of the weather, but I think it will be a nice, short ride:

You also should check this web site:  http://www.nh.gov/dot/nhbikeped/maps.htm

These maps are excellent, and they show a lot of good routes in the Ashland area.  Ashland is on the Lakes Region Map.  For one of your rides I would suggest taking Route 3 to Holderness, turn on to Route 113 and ride to Sandwich (where I live).  From there you can go around Squam Lake and  back to Holderness, or you can ride back the way you came.  Here is a link to the ride around Squam Lake.  http://tinyurl.com/53xzjj  The Lakes Region map will show how Ashland relates to this route.

The suggested ride around Squam Lake has good scenery.  Center Sandwich has a nice restaurant and a good coffee shop.  The nearest bike shops are in Plymouth.  Hope you have a good time while you are in the area.  Hope you are able to check email while you are in Ashland.
