I am a fairly fit HS runner and I run a 6:58 mile and I would like to atleast get to a 6:40?! Can anyone suggest some good workouts to improve my time?

along what with Kdogg said, you should also throw in some running workouts.

For example, do a 3-5 mile run monday, 6X400m tues, a 3-6 mile run wed, 4X800m thurs, and 4 mile run friday, then rest saturday and sunday.

You can do anything like that, just mix it up, then when you get comfortable and not worn out by the end of the week, try doing more and see how you like it.  Ive been doing this for about 2-3 years and im a freshman in HS right now.

    In 7th grade I ran a 6:45, in 8th I ran a 6:05, and now I run a 5:20-5:25

Just believe in yourself, and you can achieve anything, pce.

Running machines are good for improving times.

Set it a few seconds faster, and see how long you can hold out ;o)

Do this every week or so, recording, and gradually increasing your speed.
