So I'm just coming off of a long injury...but I've been back to running for the past 2 months...I'm running about 35 miles a week...I had to long runs this week 9 miles tues and 9 miles thurs...I'm still a little nervous about running the 1/2 marathon next sunday...the only thing that bothered me were my feet were a little sore...just crampy but I felt like I could have went further...I'm running a steady 9 minute mile...I planned on running light the rest of next week...any other suggestions or comments?
Yeah - don't worry about it and enjoy your race day! It sounds like you're doing great! If the only thing that ached on me when I was running was my feet then I'd be laughing
I've got 2 weeks to go until my 1/2 and I'm getting knee pains that are seriously worrying me more than any of the other aches & pains I've been getting over the last 3 months.
I don't think this body was built for running
just remember that it's 90% mental! if you go into the event, knowing that you will do excellent and that you will finish....then you will!
i trained for months last winter for a full marathon event (my first ever) and had an injury 2 months before that kept me from running. i got in a 16 miler a few weeks before the race, but no more after that. i told myself that i was still going to run it....and i did, with no injury.
you'll do great next week. save your energy. take it easy and rest up well this week.
Thanks! I'm really looking forward to it...I did it 3 years ago..but I was about 20 pounds lighter..and wasn't eating right so...I hope for it to be better this year...Its a great course...I live in Moline, IL...so it goes through 5 cites all along the Mississippi river...anyway thanks for your input!

I'm sure you'll do fantastic! I'm running the 1/2 in Detroit next month. If you do well...you should consider running. It's international, running over the Bridge into Canada, and back through the tunnel into Detroit (worlds only underwater mile).
Anyway, good luck!
