I'm proud to report that I accomplished my September goal of back-to-back centuries last weekend.  The routes from my Garmin are here and here.

The weather was perfect for cycling.  Overcast but dry, no wind, highs both days just a little above 70.  I'm tired -- very tired -- but not in any pain.  Still, you won't see me leaping out of my chair or climbing any stairs today!

On my virtual tour, those 200 miles got me through Seattle, down into Oregon and half-way to Hwy 101.  I'm now less than 750 miles away from the Golden Gate Bridge.

How is September looking for you guys?

It was looking pretty good, until you crushed me with miles! :) Hey, more power to you! That's excellent news.

I haven't been riding as much, mostly because I hate the stationary bike here in the hotel, but I'm still keeping it up with running and swimming. I'm really itching to get out and go rent a bike for the weekend or something, just to enjoy it. This little town in Iowa is great for biking.

Congrats Steve. You definitely stand alone on the "most miles" pedistal! How cool.

    In my book:

    • 1 running mile = 10 cycling miles
    • 1 swimming mile= 50 cycling miles

It's a shame we can't somehow apply a factor to the group training!  Until then, I'll just have to humbly accept your congratulations.  :-)

P.S.  I hate all stationary bikes except spinning bikes.  Best of luck finding a rental!

Steve, Congrats! It's still hot here so I'm stuck on the stationary bike as well. I rode my second 10 miles tonight and I'm ready to start logging some serious miles. It's starting to cool off in the mornings so I will be back on the "real bike" this next weekend.

Steve, my helemet's off to you. You are da man!

Impressive ride!  I'm finishing up my taper this week getting ready for the Top Of Utah Marathon in Logan, Utah next Saturday.  Should be a good time since it's all nearly downhill plus topping off the vacation with a little bobsledding on the Olympic course there.
