The Safeway Foundation in conjunction with Payson Parks & Recreation will be putting on the inaugural Huffin' & Puffin' in the Pines 8, 5 and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on July 12, 2008 at Rumsey Park. The proceeds from this event benefit The Safeway Foundation Charities helping improve treatment and detection for breast and prostate cancer, funding neuromuscular disease research and providing services and programs for people living with disabilities. With music, food, a family fun zone, fun run/walk, raffle prizes and spectator cheering there will be something for everyone!

Safeway seeks to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. Through the Safeway Foundation we have donated millions of dollars toward efforts to improve detection and treatment of breast cancer and prostate cancer, toward neuromuscular disease research, and for programs serving people with disabilities and other special needs. Proceeds from this event will support these worthy causes.

Fundraising: Participants are encouraged to get family and friends to sponsor them for this event. You can collect donations online when you create your own fundraising page at www.active.com/donate/makingadifference. You can also collect and turn in sponsor money on race day, checks should be made payable to: Safeway Foundation

Can’t Run? You can still get involved! With music, food, family fun zone, spectator cheering locations and a fun run/walk there is plenty to do for everyone!

8 Miler: Winds through tree lined neighborhood roads, up the dreaded Airport Road Summit where a special aid station surprise awaits, runners will be rewarded with views of the town below, the Mogollon Rim & the Mazatzal Mountains, the course continues around the western perimeter of town where runners will enjoy the slight downhill grade which leads them straight to historic Main St. and back to Rumsey Park for their finish.

5 Miler: Winds through tree lined neighborhood roads with some gentle rolling hills, runners will enjoy views of the Mazatzal Mountains along the way and return to Rumsey Park for their finish

1 Mile Fun Run/Walk: Tree lined, flat out & back
