Kept a 7:45-8 min/mile pace. The run around the canal walk was nice, and as a non-resident, I thought the route was pretty easy to navigate overall. You get a bit of the city and a bit of the quiet river/zoo area. Saw a handful of other runners. While most of the surface as concrete or brick, there were several areas with grass along the side that you could hope on to in order to save the knees.
