Got a Mapmyride message today; six days left to complete the last 20%. Hope it will fit in the schedule of work and family. I wonder why worldwide so few people ride this challenge.

Thanks for the challenge! I needed to ride 38 miles today to close this one out... at exactly mile 38 I slid out in the rain while going through a busy intersection. Funny thing is, I had a friend who was going for a similar goal last year... he hit his goal while on a fast decent and crashed at the same moment. We where both wearing the same style Jersey when we crashed. The Curse of the Lobster Ride Jersey has been born! Still super fun. Thanks again!

Did the Bike Club of Lake County Ramble century today and did the Udder Century last Sunday so with my other mileage I should almost have this goal met!

Well.. gonna have to rest a few days! Finished the Tour de Cure century in 5:33:00.. very similar to Fletcher Flier result, but more 'body damage!' Less elevation gain today, but 15º hotter at a very humid 89º for most of the course. Beat me down pretty good! ;o)

Had more chaffing on my hind parts and a hot spot on the bottom of left foot... gonna be a couple days before I get back in the saddle!

Peace,

Pete

Update on my previous note...

This challenge helped motivate me to step it up a notch preparing for my first century ride... the Fletcher Flyer on June 7. Rode and did well, though BEAT afterwards. 100 miles in 5:34:00 with about 4500' of elevation gain!

Thanks for the motivator! Got the Tour de Cure Century locally this Saturday, then a light riding load for a week or two to recover from the back-to-back centuries.

Peace,

Pete

This is my third challenge on here it is a big improvement to the last two that I did. I've only been cycling for 4 weeks now and last week I rested just about everyday today is the start of my fifth week and I just completed my first 70 mile ride, 35 of those miles was riding straight into 25+ winds through rolling hills (OUCH!!!), the only thing that kept me going was looking foward to making it home and seeing how many miles I added to my goal for the month.

Nice!

Probably should be noted that the suggested mileage chart only adds up to 300 miles, rather than 500.

Thanks for this challenge!! I'm new to this site and fairly new to cycling (< 1 year) and just finished the Assault on Marion as my first event. I signed up for the Fletcher Flyer Century on June 7 and needed something to help motivate me to up my training... This is just the ticket to help motivate me on days I feel like shortening a route!! Thanks again!
